  • Rivik
One of the standouts in my collection, start to finish raw White Stripes goodness. Very fortunate to have this one
  • Agamaginn
How is the pressing on this? I just found out it was pressed at United Pressing and I've had some real issues with records from them in the past. Anyone have any issues with this copy?
  • Lesesshe
Does anyone know if this is the same music found on the various unofficial BBC Sessions LP's, like:
  • Saberdragon
Yes - they were recorded for a UK radio show.
  • Olelifan
label C on the red vinyl wasn't glued flat on my copy
  • Arlana
Welcome to the fantastical world of United Record Pressing! a
  • Berkohi
Finally had a a couple hours to listen to this release I was able to get on RSD 2016. To my dismay, the album I purchased came sealed with two copies of the album number 2 (red vinyl), and no album number 1 (white vinyl) in it. I don't see any other responses from anyone else this has happened to, and I don't see any information on this specific packaging error. Anyone else out there get two copies of disc 1 or disc 2? I'm assuming my copy of the white vinyl is out there somewhere. :)
  • Quashant
I just opened my copy and it only has a single copy of disc 1 and no disc 2.
  • Reggy
Just a packing era from the plant, nothing special about it.
  • Very Old Chap
As an update, dealing with Third Man Records (the label for this release) was a dream. Contacted them and explained the situation above. They asked for the double copy I received, shipped it out, and within a week they sent me out the white vinyl I was missing. Top notch service in my book.
  • Dusho
Missing the red disc and no download card. Should I return it?
  • Shaktizragore
I just opened my sealed copy to find no disc 1 and a single copy of disc 2. Pretty disappointing
  • Dangerous
Same here. I´ll try to survive. Can´t make any promises though...
  • Adaly
Well, I got both discs but mine also came with a packaging error. Both inner sleeves are for Vol. II. I think I can live with it though.
  • Phobism
Street date for Canada changed to May 6th at distributors, so probably more copies to come.
  • Mightsinger
Not sure why the prices are so high. I imagine it is not that limited and there will also be a standard black vinyl released later. My local store just got some more in and you can buy it through bull moose for under $28.
  • Djang
The prices have gone down significantly, even on here. The first one went up for $100 but now the lowest is just over $30. I hedged my bets and pre-ordered from a few different sources with the plan of cancelling them as soon as one was shipped - yesterday 3 got sent out before I had a chance to cancel the others. I really don't think it's that limited, certainly the least limited White Stripes "Limited Edition" I've come across anyway.
  • Vozuru
Volume 1 sounds amazing, Jack and Meg at their best. Especially compared to their earlier days at the gold dollar and most other live albums, it sounds perfect. The guitar is beautiful and clear even when it's dirty and Jack's singing was at the level of the album recordings. The set list is special too, I've never heard Boll Weevil played so beautifully and Baby Blue is just a fucking special recording. Volume 2 sounds like they were maybe being overworked, jack was having trouble singing, the sound quality is closer to their live in Tokyo release. The voice overpowers the mix and the guitar is trying to elbow it's way in, maybe the amp wasn't the one Jack was used to using. The best part of volume 2 is the set list. "I Think I Smell a Rat" was the most vicious song in the set, you can hear Jack venting some of his frustration with the situation in that one. And of course Meg, she's always perfect.
  • Katishi
Yeah, 100% agree. The sound on the 2nd disc set is really lackluster compared to the first. The guitar completely fades out of the mix when the cymbals are crashing or the vocals are decently loud. It starts getting laughable during the "Goin' Back To Memphis" solos, and continues from there. Still worth it, but primarily for the masterpiece that is disc 1.
  • komandante
For Europe, I saw it on in the Netherlands. Does someone have experience with this seller ?
  • FailCrew
Yeah I've bought records by them for two years without problems.
  • Wooden Purple Romeo
Mine arrived in the UK from NewOnVinyl fine a few days ago :)
  • Steel balls
I ordered from New On Vinyl this morning. I've read good things (although it's usually a bit expensive with shipping to me so I haven't ordered from them before but I don't really care for this). I will let you know how it goes.Update: It's now Sold Out on NewOnVinyl - I hope this means they could fulfil the orders made before. Still says awaiting shipment, although nowhere in Paris has received their copies yet so I expect it's the same for Netherlands. We shall see.
  • Haralem
For anyone that missed out on Sirendisc or Sound Stage Direct, Turntable lab is taking orders now too:
  • Nea
Just grabed it, many thanks for the info. Death to flippers!
  • Unereel
Siredisc just cancled my order because they're OOS. Had a feeling that would happen.
  • SoSok
Sirendisc is not shipping outside USA. Last year, Get behind Me Satan was also supposed to be released on black vinyl. It never happened. I hope to find these Peel Sessions at a fair price in Europe. If someone sees it? let me know.
  • Runemane
Try to get it by They have it <3
  • Raelin
Just brought home a bootleg one vinyl version of the John Peel Show. It's the July 25th disc although the tracks are not laid out quite the same as here. And, it's black vinyl...But I only paid 20 euros for it so it's not a bad deal. I guess I'm gonna call my dealer now to see if he knows of a second vinyl with the November session ?!?Just called and, no, he doesn't know of a second album. But, note of interest, he's had the one he just sold me for at least 2 months, maybe up to 4...
  • Arilak
Theres actually quite a few copies here in the states. Have patience and the price will drop. One of the local stores had 25 or so copies .
  • Fenrinos
I've purchased from sirendisc. They are a great little indie store with a ton of new music. Always satisfied, if you are in the seaside/monterey area go check them out. Yes I agree, quick flippers suck eggs.
  • Onetarieva
Looks like it's also available on Sound Stage Direct. You can also get 15% off today with the code LP15.
  • Larosa
I just placed an order today with the discount, Thanks man!
  • Gir
Thanks for the link! Ordered with discount. Perfect. Death to scalpers indeed.
  • Ance
NOT ADVERTISING: death to flippers! If you want a copy of THE WHITE STRIPES JOHN PEEL Sessions RED/WHITE color vinyl, here is a link:$26.95Death to vinyl flippers!
  • Dordred
Bought my copy from them this morning, too! Can't wait for it to show up.
  • Impala Frozen
Go buy your copy here at cost before it's gone!!!
  • I love Mercedes
This is getting a black vinyl release later this year isn't it?
  • sobolica
Besides the RSD version sounds really great. It's a shame the regular version isn't there yet... I really hope these Peel Sessions will be released soon enough.
  • Xal
I have been waiting for the black vinyl release ever since last year's RSD. I have a german bootleg of get behind me satan, but it is obviously pressed from the cd-master.
  • YSOP
Yes it is supposed to. Let's just hope it won't be like Get Behind Satan, which was also meant to get a black vinyl release "later this year" one year ago...
  • Thoginn
Curious, were these recorded to tape or digital? That's what makes their recording process so cool, not really worth it otherwise.
  • Kinashand
Finally received my copy from Soundstage but postage to outside the US cost an absolute bomb - and then I got hit with a £12 customs charge. Curses!
  • Dolid
Anyone know how many copies have been pressed? Just been out to try and buy but very few copies have got to the UK I believe!
  • Jesmi
Only 250 copies in the UK - so I believe.
  • Kendis
And the first one goes up for sale for.... £100! I suppose if you have no discernible talent of your own, make money from other peoples'. Also, this record never even made it to France - every store I've been in today in Paris said they haven't received it YET. I think there may be more on their way over the next few days so don't fork out the big $$$ just yet.
  • Hellmaster
This is true.Siren disc doesn't have all of theirs yet..
