Watch out Charles Tolilver/Music Inc did versions of Effi -"Live in Tokyo" and also on Max Roach's "Members don't get weary" were talking some serious music here.

I hear you Wattsiswhat and Keagile are saying, years ago i would go to the record fairs and just ask for "any Strata East"? from the record sellers/dealers and they would have a strange look on their faces and say "NO".
They just did not get it because i was the only person that had seemed to interested in the label.
I think the Soul Jazz Record / Sounds of the universe increased there popularity with their compilation! "Soul Jazz love Strata East" WOW this label is simply AMAZING.

Simply one of the best jazz albums ever, highly sought after material!

What? What is this? It sounds incredible! It's not as much like music from other lands as it is from other worlds. No matter what, the notes are played in ways so rich in texture and creativity that they're certainly from other times. Ones that derive back from days when music was an artform constantly expanding its hemispheres. Somewhere along the way the essence of it all got corrupted by a corporate system that extinguished such a flare and led to too much becoming forgotten. This album is a buried treasure. The only bad part for me is that I borrowed it! I need my own!
