I think the pad in One Nation is sampled from Basic Channel - Radiance (Radiance II)
  • Mora
One Nation, in my opinion, is one of the best Drum n Bass tunes ever made. The drum edits from around 4 minutes in onwards (not discounting the rest of the track) are absolutely insane!
  • Shadowbourne
39 people have this, right? I challenge all of them to post pics of their copy.
  • Wnex
From what I have gathered all the test presses have a gap of silence in the start of "One Nation" and I am willing to bet that is one of the reasons this never got any further than test press.
  • Fearlessrunner
The cd release of One Nation doesn't have the gap at the start, but all the test presses do. Granted I have only had the chance of checking this over two copies, but I would safely say all the test presses are like this.

if u cut plates, u know . . . . .
  • Anarius
nonsense... its not a test press its a white, full release to get around FSOL samples as couldn't be cleared. and silence at the beginning of a test, you just run the test again and its all corrected... you don't get a few hundred tests pressed.
  • Fenrikasa
Again......sample clearance issues with FSOL.
  • Watikalate
FSOL are fine ones to talk about sampling, they have sampled loads of peeps over the years! I'm guessing it was more to do with the label they were on at the time rather than FSOL. Weren't they with Virgin Records around that time? Say no more. If Rupert would've sampled one of their records on Jumpin' & Pumpin' it would've been OK.

I beg to differ...the Boymerang 12" Still / Urban Space is in my opinion one of the greatest dnb records out there. Also all the DJ's love releases like "Alien Girl" and "Sonar" to bits...so for most of us Prototype is NOT a shit label! it has contributed well to the dnb scene, so if it's your kind of label or not Prototype deserves recognition and respect.
  • Tat
totally agree. Grooverider, what an idiot. especially pro003, feeling up, i'd give my left testicle for a copy of that.
  • Mave
Yes, but nothing on this label!
  • Gajurus
your calling prototype a shit label?!! do u even like drum n bass?
  • Damand

There are indeed two versions of 'Say It' on EYE 001, but neither are the version that is on this release.

Interesting to see so many disagreeing with this information! I will post links to soundclips on my website of all 3 tracks - watch this space...

It's a shame that this record never saw the light of day. As for the few of us who've heard any track off this record (or PRO003), we can tell you that it's indeed some of the most finely crafted DnB ever to be created, which realy goes without saying, seeing as it's both on Prototype and made by Photek. For those who are interested, Flavour of a Sound and Feeling Up (both off PRO003) can be found on the "Fantazia Takes You Into The Jungle 2" Compilation / Mix CD, though both tracks are in the middle of a mix, so they're a bit too short and lack optimal sound quality. One Nation can be found, posibly in it's original format, on Photek's solo album, "Form and Function Vol. 2" . As for Say It... who knows... Hopefully one day these records will get a proper release but more likely than not, they will remain unreleased.
