Not too keen on this remaster. I know it's advertised that Mortiis did it himself, but honestly I think he got a little overzealous with the loudness. Especially with ambient stuff like this I personally prefer a quiet master that has a lot of room for the sounds to breathe. The audio is DEFINITELY not the worst remaster in the world, though, and should not be something that keeps you from saving a few dollars on the reissue and enjoying the actual music. But if you can find an earlier Earache pressing, one of the Dark Dungeon Music pressings, or even one of the '94 editions for a really sweet price, I'd recommend grabbing one of those because it becomes that much easier to get lost in this music for 55 minutes.
