3 Doors Down is an American rock band that history seemed to go as one-hit wonder because even though success single Kryptonite of the band in 2000 a welcome guest at all the major festivals, it became very quiet around the foursome. Partly this will be to the great success of similar bands like Creed and Live have located but maybe also to the lack of originality and face work of the still young band. In this respect 3 Doors Down Away From The Sun with a big step forward. Especially solid rock or When I'm Gone and impress Ticket To Heaven but a beautiful ballad as Here Without You effortlessly also remains standing. Incidentally also has the rest of the material on a constant high level Away From The Sun and leave it next to a confident band especially hear that singer Brad Arnold about a remarkable voice. There are Away From the Sun than no new paths, 3 Doors Down offsets that loss with pure quality. All in all, this is a very pleasant and remarkably solid rock plate that 3 Doors Down hopefully brings what she deserves: success.

The past has proven that writing a follow up to a successful debut album is not always easy. But 3 Doors Down did manage to do it. With Away From The Sun the band showed progress without straying to far from their own sound. The all through quality of the songs is more than descent with a few songs standing out that have the potential to become hit singles. There is one point of criticism in my opinion. Despite some catchy melodies, that some songs on Away From The Sun definitely have, the sound of the album is pretty much the same all the way through. The sound and overall feel of the album has a clear resemblance with their first release. An attention point the band will have to work on in the future if they want stand out and keep themselves interesting to the to public. But that’s not an issue yet and for now I can only conclude they’ve released a more than ok album and a worthy follow up to their successful debut. The hit potential that some of the tracks have will give 3 Doors Down the garanty of having their name in the charts and gain new fans to their excisting fanbase.
Away from the sun will entertain you for some time and will make you look forward to it’s follow up record.
